This guide will walk you through the process of setting up the GenieButton app on your Shopify store. GenieButton is a powerful tool that allows you to add customizable buttons and widgets to your Shopify store.
Start by visiting the Shopify App Store.
Search for "GenieButton" and select it from the results.
Click on the "Add app" button. This will initiate the installation process and redirect you to your Shopify store's admin page to confirm.
You will be prompted to authorize the app's access to your store's data. This is required for the app to function correctly.
Follow any additional prompts to complete the installation. Once installed, GenieButton should be added to your store's admin dashboard.
To allow GenieButton to access your Shopify data securely, you’ll need to go through OAuth authorization.
When you launch GenieButton, it should automatically request authorization.
You’ll be asked to enter your store's URL (e.g., https://your-store-name.myshopify.com). This directs the OAuth flow to authenticate with your specific Shopify store.
If you're not already logged into Shopify, you'll be redirected to log in.
Shopify will display a list of permissions that GenieButton needs to function. Review these permissions and click "Install app" to grant access.
Many third-party apps require plan selection or approval for additional features.
Within the GenieButton app, you’ll see a prompt to approve the pricing or choose a plan. This could include a free trial, freemium, or premium option.
Carefully review the features and costs associated with each plan tier. Select the one that meets your needs and approve the pricing plan.
Once you confirm the pricing plan, Shopify will display a summary of the plan charges. Approve the charges to finalize the integration.
Upon approval, Shopify will redirect back to the GenieButton app. This step confirms that the app is installed and fully authorized to access your store’s data.
If GenieButton requires any specific configurations (such as adding a widget to specific pages), follow the on-screen instructions to set it up as desired.
Go to your store and check for the GenieButton to ensure it's displaying correctly. You may also want to test it to confirm it’s working as expected.
